IP Lookup Tools VPN / Proxy Detection

VPN, proxy and Tor detection

Check with several signals whether an IP address is used as a VPN, proxy, Tor exit or data center.

If you enter a domain name, its A record is resolved and the first public IP address is checked.

What is checked?

  • The Tor Project exit node list
  • Known VPN provider ranges and provider brand names
  • AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle, Cloudflare and DigitalOcean IP ranges
  • Hosting and mobile carrier ASN lists
  • Proxy and VPN patterns in the reverse DNS name

How do I read the result?

  • Yes means a firm signal and lowers the trust score.
  • Possible is only for indirect signals such as a data center; it does not lower the score.
  • Detection is heuristic: unlisted VPNs can slip through and corporate exit addresses can be flagged wrongly.

Frequently asked questions

How reliable is the result?

List and brand matches are strong. A data center signal alone is not proof; weigh it with the other risk information.

I use a VPN but look clean, why?

If your exit address is not on known lists or provider names it cannot be detected. This tool gives a likelihood, not a certainty.
