WHOIS and RDAP record lookup

See a domain's registrar, registration and expiry dates and status codes, or an IP address's network block and owner organization. Queries use RDAP, the modern replacement for WHOIS.

Example: example.com or 8.8.8.8

What is checked?

  • Domain: registrar, creation, update and expiry dates
  • Status codes and DNSSEC information
  • Nameservers attached to the domain
  • IP: network name, address range, country, organization and regional internet registry

How do I read the result?

  • Domains with less than 30 days to expiry show up as a warning in the DNS report.
  • Some extensions such as .tr do not publish RDAP; those records are queried from the relevant registry.
  • Owner details may be hidden on domains with privacy protection.

Frequently asked questions

Are WHOIS and RDAP the same thing?

RDAP is the structured protocol that replaces WHOIS. It serves the same registration data in an orderly form, which we render readable.
